Things to do this month

1. Lawn Cutting
Now is the time to start cutting your lawn. Keep your height higher on the first cut or two until the grass starts growing at pace

2. Weeding
As the weather improves the weeds will start to appear. Keep on top of weeding by starting as soon as you see them.

3. Slugs
Start controlling your slugs, if nature has kept on top of this (birds and hedgehogs).

4. Summer Bulbs
Some summer flowering bulbs should be planted now

5. Frost Damage
Check shrubs and plants for frost damage and cut as required

6. Patio & Driveway Cleaning
Cleaning off moss and leaves to prevent slippery areas

7. Planting
Depending on the weather March is a good time to plant some new plants in your garden

8. Daffodils
Pick developing seed heads off your daffodils to maintain good bulb development

9. Herbs
Prune back before new growth commences

10. Containers & Pots
Top dress with fresh compost

March

Spring is here...

Spring usually arrives by mid-March and the frequent sunny days provide the opportunity for an increasing range of gardening tasks. It's time to get busy preparing seed beds, sowing seed, cutting back winter shrubs and generally tidying up around the garden.
